Siam Land

hello Thailand! I missed you so!

It's such a good feeling to be back here - despite the protests and all that. I realised that I've yet to revisit any previous vacation spots, except Thailand.

I really love it here. I don't know why but I just love Thailand. I love how the cables add a little chaos to the clear skies. And how the cars on the road rarely honk at people. And how you can literally talk to anybody and not get snubbed at. Sometimes, living in the city with everything at reach, and the need to be neat and proper gets on my nerves. I just want to punch some walls and jump into a hole.

This short trip to Thailand was intended to be a short getaway after 3 years of mugging in school. Sorta like a grad trip, but when we were there, it probably felt too much like home for me. it took awhile for me to realise that I was actually in BKK because at that moment, everything felt right

it was a strange feeling.

So yeah, 4 of us - Jared, Shumin, Huiyu and I went BKK! We were all super looking forward to this trip because it's our first time traveling together and everything was placed together in a spur of a moment. #enoughofplanningplease

We stayed in this dodgy budget hotel because we wanted to crash together and not end up in different rooms. so Siam Star Hotel had just what we need - a family room with 2 separate bedrooms!

It's pretty near Baiyoke Sky hotel where a few of Jared's friends were staying. And merely one street away from Prathunam Market. Swagggg.

4D3N BKK here we go!

Day times were for shopping, Night times were for food/party.

First day: Chatuchak Market.

I finally got myself a dream catcher. I think they're super pretty and the story behind it is pretty pleasant. In a way, they act as a filter for your dreams, only allowing the good ones to pass through.

SO LOVE.

I managed to psycho Shumin and Jared to get one each too. Because everybody should be happy and have sweet dreams. should

Had the shiokest coconut icecream there. If only I could bring them home for everyone to eat.

And managed to snag this really awesome dino tank tee. I am very pleased. :)

First Night: Supper at Huay Kwang Nightmarket near Sukhumvit.

we entered one if the restaurants along the night market, together with Jared's friends and had possibly one of the shiokest tomyum of the trip.

We spent the next day at Prathunam shopping our guts out. Not much pictures because we were, well, shopping.

The streets were brightly painted with all of everything you could possibly imagine. It was so lovely! Shopped till we passed out in the evening.

In anycase, I thought that this trip was a chill out getaway. But clearly my friends and I have different definitions of "chill out," because they wanted to party in BKK. I didn't bring any party clothes... so another reason to shop? *sniggers*

We left the second night for some partying at FunkyVilla where I met the man of my dreams, but didn't snap any photos because I was too mesmerized by him. Such is life.

Jaed, Fabian and I left for some Thaipub to find their friends!

It was an eye opener :O

In anycase, all of us reached the hotel in a pretty high state. I didn't drink as much as them because I wanted to wake up early the next day! Didn't wanna waste my mornings in bed at a foreign land that I call home.

The third morning, Huiyu had to run errands for her boss. So we went to MBK, took a train down to Platinum, braced the sweltering sun and walked back to our hotel because the Martial Law was imposed that morning and the jams were crazy. It was one helluva of distance, but the street stalls made the walk so much easier. Huiyu nearly passed out. We also came across this Skaters Cafe which looks pretty amazing!

Later in the afternoon, we went to Dalat Rot Fai BUT THEY WERE CLOSED!?! ARGH. Apparently, it's also a weekend thing. </3 So we took the chance to take some OOTDs before heading down to Asiatique.

Ended the night with some beers, awesome street food and a whole load of gyoza from 7-11. AHHAHA. Things that we'll never do in Singapore.

The Fourth Morning, Huiyu and Shumin had to run some errands again. So we crashed Prathunam one last time, grabbed everything in sight. Managed to grab this pair of awesome shoes as well! Slightly pricey.. but it's so cute! Had lunch, and Jared and I went back to the hotel lobby to chill out while waiting for Shumin and Huiyu.

Sun-dried hair. Messy but quite nice. I like!
TADA. That concludes the trip. Most of the other pics are in my film camera.. So I'll upload it once I get them developed :). Oh, throughout the trip, my mom was like "Did you get to see your potato band?"

For clarifications, I really like this Thai band called Potato. And my mom, being the cutesy mother, thinks that BKK is a small place and I would have bumped into them, or perhaps her crazy daughter went full fledged bonkers and decide to bandchase them. Nope. I didn't, alright.

But I told her, "Yeah, I did. Took a picture with them too."

And sent her this:
