WANDERLUST DIARIES: UK

SGP  ✈  ✈  DEL  ✈   LHR

First time ever stepping foot on Western land. The plane ride right there was amazing because we flew past some snow capped mountains and the plane gave us one of the most incredible views of them. The clouds were barely there and everything was so visible! It was definitely a Walter Mitty moment and I really wanna climb some mountains - soon. Jiahui, Christopher and I were basically mass taking pictures of the view even though the next picture we took was practically the same as the one before. -_-

SO GORG PLEASE.

We landed at Heathrow about evening - first night there was horrible because we had Burger King for supper. Starving kids do not make good decisions. And while some of us were regretting our first ever western food choice, we got over it in a couple of minutes because this is choice #1 of so many other decision-making to come. We can afford the room for error.

Stayed in a hostel for a night before we made our way to our dorms. We were lucky to have stayed in Paddington because it is very accessible to everywhere else. Also made a mental note to meet up with the Hubster because I think I'll be doing very well without this presence in this entire UK trip and eventually, we will end up not seeing each other throughout my entire stay here. AND THAT will leave me with a earful the next time he comes back to Singapore.

Didn't conquer much of U.K. and wished that we went to Scotland or Ireland which is upper North. But hey, it was already freezing in the eastmidlands. Unless I downed a couple of beers beforehand, if not, let's save it for another season. Hahaha.

My hair refuses to stay on my head and it went everywhere. How annoying. The static was pretty cray, and it stayed with me throughout my entire Europe trip. The static never left me and I will electrify you if you come too close. Even now.

Yes. Now.

Basically my #OOTD for the entire 2 months. The beanie couldn't withstand the amount of static I was emitting so it frayed and died on me by the 3rd week. :(

Hyde Park

Second night at the school dorm. This was at Alvin's place - which eventually became our usual hangout for drinking nights. Only the second night and we were already indulging in pizzas, wraps, fried food, etc. JIA LAT. The beginning of mass weight gain starts right about now.

The wind there really last warning. My comb went missing on the 2nd week but it's okay because it's not as if I combed my hair anyway. The wind was practically our hairstylist for the entire duration in school.

Nottingham

An old underground bar right beside Robin Hood's Castle at Nottingham

Chocolates, alcohol, fried food and every form of carbohydrates is freaking cheap. The weather is cold, hence the excessive drinking and fat creation was simply a necessity. But also because.. the gym is freaking expensive. The scale of balance is so tipped I can't even

And this was right before we flew to Amsterdam via Easyjet. It wasn't so easy afterall because they were just <insert word here>.

Argh.

But everything went well. Eventually. Or rather, everything done in Luton airport was worth it for Amsterdam. Amsterdam was AmsterDAYUMMMM.
